What's New in Institutional Profiles?

Institutional Profiles Data Update

This update refreshes the data set to add one year of new data. As a result:

  • The number of countries represented is now 73.  The number of institutions included in the service is 740, including the following regional representation levels:

  • The data set now incorporates the results of the 2015 reputation survey. Five years of data make trend analysis possible.
  • Bibliometric indicators are based on articles published between 2005-2013 and citation counts up to 2014.
  • Data supplied by participating institutions on staff students and funding is updated to include 2013 data.
  • Textual descriptions, such as official institution names, mission statements and key contacts have been updated

This update refreshes the data set to add one year of new data. As a result:

  • The number of countries represented is now 76.  New countries represented are:
    • Argentina
    • Bulgaria
    • Iraq
    • Libya

The number of institutions included in the service has increased by 54, bringing the total to 769, including the following regional representation levels:

This update refreshes the data set to add one year of new data. As a result:

  • The number of countries represented has increased by 3, bringing the total to 72. The number of institutions included in the service has increased by 50, bringing the total to 715, including the following regional representation levels:

 - 12% increase in Asia/Oceania
 - 8% increase in Europe, the Middle East and Asia (EMEA)
 - 43% increase in Latin America
 - no change North America

  • The data set now incorporates the results of the 2013 reputation survey. Four years of data make trend analysis possible.
  • Bibliometric indicators are based on articles published between 2005-2011 and citation counts up to 2012.
  • Data supplied by participating institutions on staff students and funding is updated to include 2011 data.
  • Textual descriptions, such as official institution names, mission statements and key contacts have been updated.
