Information for New Users

The Web of Science Usage Reporting system provides usage statistics for the products to which your institution subscribes.

Three reports comply with Release 4 of the COUNTER Code of Practice for e-Resources:

  • All Products Summary (Total Searches, Result Clicks and Record Views by Month and Database): Database Report 1
  • Web of Science (Access Denied by Month, Database and Category): Database Report 2
  • Consortium Report 2: Total searches by month and database

Other reports present usage statistics for activities not covered by COUNTER-compliant reports. These include:

  • alerting
  • citation events
  • table of contents viewed
  • links to other products
  • links to full-text articles and other sources
